Pakuwon Mall

Pakuwon mall is a brand new shopping mall in west Surabaya. It has become the biggest shopping center in Indonesia. Pakuwon Mall offers A one-stop living concept to serve modern living. Among endless branded shops the mall also offers a supermarket and it has become a culinary destination and recreation center. Pakuwon mall is located 10 minutes from Vasa Hotel.

Ampel Mosque & Arabic Quarter

Ampel Mosque is an ancient mosque located in the Ampel sub-district, Surabaya, East Java. The oldest mosque in East Java was built in 1421 CE by Sunan Ampel whose tomb is located within the area. At the entrance of the Ampel mosque hawkers line both sides of the alleyway selling all kinds of goods from perfume, to sarongs, black caps, Muslim clothing and rosaries, to zamzam water from Mecca, and other prayer needs. There are also hawkers selling Ampel specialty snacks and food like prawn cakes and Arabian curry.

Surabaya Carnival Night Market

Located in the Southern part of Surabaya, this place offers great amusement, particularly for children. The Surabaya Carnival Night Market (SCNM) is basically a night market with theme park concept, where you’ll find various rides, shops, and restaurants. A trip to SCNM is fun for the family. The SCNM is open daily from 3:00 PM and the entrance fee is Rp 20,000 ($1.50) per person.

Ciputra Waterpark

Ciputra Waterpark is the biggest water park in Surabaya – and Indonesia, as well as one of most popular tourist destinations in this city. The water park has different pools with different depth. It has a lot to offer for each age group, from toddlers, teenagers and adolescence,  to adults. The Ciputra Waterpark is open Tuesday - Friday at 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM and Saturday - Sunday 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM. The entrance fee is Rp. 110.000 ($8.25) on Tuesday - Friday and Rp. 130.000 ($9.75) on Saturday - Sunday.

Mangrove Forest Ecotourism

Despite its pollution and crowded traffic, with the mangrove forest Surabaya still has a great place to enjoy nature. Located near Juanda airport, visitors can walk down the bamboo bridge over the river  and through the shades of the forest, or they can take a boat to enjoy the beautiful scenery from the water. 

Monkasel (Monumen Kapal Selam)

Monumen Kapal Selam is the best place to learn more about the history of this submarine and how it defended the city during the colonial period. Located in Surabaya center, it's a nice change from all the shopping, Guests can visit and learn about the submarine every day from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM and the entrance fee is Rp. 10.000 ($0.75).

Tugu Pahlawan

Tugu Pahlawan or Monument of Heroes was build to commemorate the heroes. The monument has an upside down nail shape and is more than 40 meters high. A museum is inside the monument and this particular tourist attraction is now also a famous photography object. The Tugu Pahlawan is open from 07.00-15.00 WIB (Tuesday-Friday) and 07.00-12.00 WIB (Saturday-Sunday). Entrance fee to the museum is Rp 5.000 ($0.37) per person. House of Sampoerna

Initially, the House of Sampoerna was an orphanage, but it changed its function in 1933 when it became a cigarette factory. Today, this place makes a great tourist attraction IN Surabaya, as visitors can enjoy interesting experiences such as a museum, café, art gallery, and you can also take a closer look at the process of making cigarettes by using traditional tools.

Cheng Ho Mosque

Apart from its function as religious facility for Muslims, the Cheng Ho mosque also serves as a historical monuments for Chinese Moslem in Surabaya. This place is located at Jalan Gading, and was build with typical architecture of Chinese culture.
